Lightbulb Simultaneous PvP and PvE

Guild Battles:
• NPCs spawn in groups of 3 or 4 for each team and head towards the opposing guild's base and Guild Lord.
• They clash in the middle.
• Players from each side help turn the tide one way or another.
• There are multiple routes to each base.
• In rated GvG matches NPCs drop small amounts of gold and/or items when killed. As do players, with a better loot table for players.
• Killing the Guild Lord is still the objective.
• Towers are set up along each route for defensive positions.

(See the DotA Allstars mod of Warcraft 3 for the template.)

It would be nice but we'd need a way to discoruage campers. Hanging back for a bit is a good stragey but when a teams sole stratgey is to just hang back and wait it drives me nuts.

Simplest way to combat the hanging back problem is to increase the strength of the NPCs of a lane each time one of the enemies' towers are conquered. If a team just sits in their base...the other team would be gaining momentum because their NPC soldiers would gradually be increasing in level and power.

Imagine this. When the game starts your NPCs are level 18. They increase in level by 3 each time you conquer a tower in their lane.

3 lanes, 4 soldiers per lane...that's 12 level 24 soldiers and 8 level 20 players...at their base. If they can tank that...more power to them.

I think it had been suggested a few times before.

Anyway that is a good idea.
I remembered there is one post that mention the use of explosive and siege weapons to destory towers.

kakumei your post helped nothing.

Although i too despise Dota in WC3, I would play it if it made its way to guild wars.

Sure... the more things to do the better. Always nice to have other things to do in MMORPGs aside from the storyline.

/SIGNED with BLOOOOOD
(my enemies blood, though. I like to keep mine where it is! ^_^)
Seriously, GW is awesome... then fun... then cool... then sinking lower and lower... then boring... then you go play some other game for a while and come back. I want more variety within my game, ESPECIALLY in GvG!!!
